Lawson Reunion, 2009

Babies, barbecue and board games. This year the Lawsons thumbed their noses at the weather and held their gathering indoors at Mookie and Bill's camp house. The food was just as tasty and the company even better.

St. Patrick's Day, 2009

The crowd seemed bigger than usual this year, especially for a Tuesday. But the weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed not only watching Davis march with the BC cadets but also finding many of our friends. Stephen was right--God would never let it rain on Father O'Brien's parade. It was definitely his day.

Davis at 15

And so begins another chapter in the Remler family: Davis turned 15, and tomorrow he will go to the DMV to get his learner's license. For his birthday he received, among other things, a new pair of sunglasses so that he can protect his retinas while also looking hip as a student driver. Davis's godfather, Aloysius, joined him for dinner, as did three of his grandparents: JoJo, PopPop and Skippy.

All Dressed Up

Since we were all together and all dressed up, we thought it would be appropriate to get some family photos!

River Trip, 2009

Top ten lessons Davis and Stephen learned on the river trip:
10. Never put your air mattress on top of a root.
9. Eat plenty of breakfast because there is no lunch.
8. Bring a tent you can stand in.
7.
King-sized cots are the way to go.
6. Never leave home without Oreos and milk.
5. Squirrel tastes pretty good, especially the back legs.
4. Paddle faster! I hear banjos!
3. A vodka bottle doesn't stand a chance on the Altamaha.
2. Urine cups make darn good juice glasses.
1. Wash the grits pot as soon as possible.

Boxing Day, 2008

The day after Christmas is always a big day in the Remler family. We go to JoJo's house where we roast oysters, play games, burn a bonfire and eat more food than we ought to. But we all look forward to sundown, when we can burn the Christmas tree. This year, Davis was the fire marshal. Brett and Lawson were the washers champs.
