Lake Weekend, 2009
In spite of thunderstorms and water spouts, the Remlers had another fine time at Laurie's luxury lake house. Between downpours, we skied, wakeboarded, swam, floated, played games and, of course, ate. And Stephen discovered his penchant for vandalism.

An Evening at Williamson Island
Surfing
Saturday the Remlers spent the afternoon at the beach. Lawson wanted to show off the skill he learned at surf camp last week. Unfortunately, the tide didn't cooperate. Usually we enjoy smooth waters, but Lawson needed the waves to be a little bigger. Davis and Mary Elizabeth helped him pick out the right one.

Crabbing for Father's Day
Who cares how hot it is? Low tide's at 12:30--the perfect time for crabbing. We strung up some chicken necks in crab traps, in baskets and on lines and waited for some hungry blue crabs to come a nibblin'. We caught about a dozen or so off the dock, then Davis, Lawson and Mary Elizabeth took off in the Carolina Skiff in search of more. We supplemented our shellfish dinner with filet of Mackerel, which Stephen and Davis caught last weekend. Kelley provided the shrimp, sausage and pasta salad. Not bad for an impromptu meal on a scorching afternoon.

A Trip to Amelia Island
Nancy, Davis and Lawson spend a few fun-filled days with Skippy, Sabra, Lucy and Elizabeth at Amelia Island. We relaxed on the beach, played many challenging board games, celebrated Nancy's birthday at the Crab Trap and assessed Lawson's skim boarding skills. Watch the video and see for yourself how he did.

Remler Vacation in Paradise--and Yes, We Did Eat Cheeseburgers
It's hard to decide what we enjoyed most about this year's trip. Could it have been the parasailing? Or maybe the pounds of trout we caught in the bay? Perhaps it was the shellapaloozza we found about a mile away from Blind Pass. Or maybe the trip to Cabbage Key where we taped dollar bills to the walls and ceiling. Some of us would say the best part was when three of our crabs placed in the Captiva Island crab race. We may never come to a decision, but there's one thing we all agree on: next time Shelly Tucker and Megan should definitely join us!
